Qassim governor attends closing ceremony of Unaizah International Dates Season 2026

Faisal bin Mishaal bin Saud bin Abdulaziz, Governor of Qassim Region, today attended the closing ceremony of the Unaizah International Dates Season 2026, known as "Naqwa Unaizah." The event was held at the Food City in Unaizah, with the participation of officials, farmers, producers, and stakeholders in the palm and dates sector.

The Qassim governor congratulated all involved on the season's success, praising the significant progress in how dates were displayed, selected, and presented to consumers, as well as the accompanying programs and activities that highlighted product quality and strengthened the season's identity.

He emphasized the distinctive focus of the Unaizah International Dates Season on product quality and presentation, noting that the "Naqwa Unaizah" concept is centered on selecting premium dates and enhancing their display and marketing, which increases product value and offers a unique experience for visitors and consumers.

He also highlighted the cooperation agreement between Milaf Company and the Unaizah International Dates Season to establish a digital platform for dates, stressing the importance of partnerships that help develop products, improve quality, and expand the benefits of agricultural seasons.

The governor reviewed the Food City development project in Unaizah and listened to a briefing on its development stages and objectives, which aim to create an integrated environment for agricultural and food products. He affirmed that Food City is an important extension of the season and an opportunity to transform seasonal activity into ongoing business that benefits farmers and producers, further boosting Unaizah's standing in the sector.

He commended the efforts of the organizing and supporting entities, as well as the participation of farmers and producers. He also noted the impact of the accompanying programs and activities in energizing Food City and showcasing Unaizah's excellence in date production and quality.

The governor attended the official ceremony, where Unaizah Governor and general supervisor of the season, Saad Al-Sulaim, delivered a speech expressing appreciation for the governor's support and oversight, which he said contributed to the season's development and the advancement of its programs and organization.

Abdulwahab Al-Qahtani, operator of the Unaizah International Dates Season, reviewed the season's main programs and activities, highlighting improvements in the display and marketing of dates, as well as the contributions of farmers, producers, and partners to the season's success.

At the end of the ceremony, the Qassim governor honored supporters and contributors to the season's success in recognition of their valuable support for its programs and activities.
