HRH Crown Prince, Bahraini Crown Prince Chair Saudi-Bahraini Coordination Council Meeting

The third meeting of the Saudi-Bahraini Coordination Council was convened under the chairmanship of His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al-Saud, Crown Prince and Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, and His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince and Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Bahrain.

The meeting was held in line with the strong and enduring fraternal and historical ties between the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the Kingdom of Bahrain and their brotherly people, and with the aim of enhancing bilateral relations.

It was attended by several Royal Highnesses, Excellencies, Distinguished Members, and heads of council subcommittees.

At the beginning of the meeting, HRH the Crown Prince welcomed the Crown Prince of Bahrain, praising the strong and deep historical relations that bind the two kingdoms and their people.

HRH the Crown Prince expressed his aspiration to exert further efforts in achieving the vision of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al-Saud, King of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, towards the unity of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries, which would contribute to the stability and prosperity of their people.

He also highlighted the work of the Saudi-Bahraini Coordination Council and its subcommittees in various areas of cooperation, emphasizing that these efforts will benefit the citizens of both countries and meet the aspirations of their leaderships.

HRH the Crown Prince of Bahrain acknowledged the exceptional level of relations and the deep-rooted fraternal ties between the Kingdom of Bahrain and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, emphasizing the importance of these meetings and their effective role in enhancing strategic partnerships between the two countries towards the desired integration.

Prince Salman highlighted their contribution to pushing cooperation towards new horizons that achieve prosperity and development for both nations and their people.

He also emphasized the care and attention given to the relations between the two countries by the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques and King Hamad bin Issa Al Khalifa of the Kingdom of Bahrain.

Prince Salman praised the commendable efforts exerted by HRH the Saudi Crown Prince to support various initiatives and projects aimed at fostering integration and development of the two countries. He noted that these include initiatives being worked on by the Saudi-Bahraini Coordination Council committees, which aim to implement shared aspirations and visions.

In the presence of the two Crown Princes of both kingdoms, the council announced the opening of the first office of the Saudi-Bahraini Company, established in November 2022 between the Saudi Public Investment Fund (PIF) and the Sovereign Wealth Fund of Bahrain (Mumtalakat), with an investment of $ 5 billion.

The meeting also saw the announcement of the completion of the construction of King Abdullah Medical City Hospital in Bahrain, which is expected to commence operations during the second quarter of 2024.

Additionally, several projects were announced related to launching training opportunities and hosting private-sector institutions focusing on artificial intelligence (AI), networking, electronic connectivity, data sharing, partnerships between private-sector institutions in the healthcare field, and product handling in both countries.
