A forum on Hajj health and safety highlighted the role of coordinated media efforts in improving pilgrim safety and awareness during the annual pilgrimage season.
During a dialogue session at the forum’s third edition on Tuesday, participants discussed the importance of cooperation among government agencies in delivering awareness campaigns and timely information to pilgrims.
The session reviewed the Saudi Interior Ministry’s media efforts, carried out in coordination with other agencies, to provide multilingual guidance aimed at raising awareness among pilgrims and visitors.
Speakers emphasized the growing use of digital platforms and modern media tools to quickly communicate updates during Hajj, describing media as a key partner in supporting security and health plans and strengthening confidence in services provided to pilgrims.
The forum also stressed the need for close coordination between media and security authorities to ensure accurate and timely information reaches pilgrims and news outlets.
Officials said Hajj-related messaging extends beyond public awareness campaigns to include preventive guidance and the promotion of positive behavior aimed at improving safety and helping pilgrims perform rituals smoothly.
