GCC Delegation Visits Water Academy to Evaluate Training in Water Industry

A delegation from the Secretariat General of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) visited the Water Academy, the training partner of the Saudi Water Authority (SWA), in Jubail, to strengthen cooperation and partnerships in training and joint programs, based on the GCC Secretariat General recommendation to accredit the academy as an entity that contributes to capacity building and technical training in the water sector in the GCC countries.

The delegation met with SWA representatives and reviewed the training the academy holds for fresh graduates and employees in engineering and technical fields, and the specialized global courses in the water sector.

They also attended a visual presentation of the over 40-year history of the academy.

During a field tour of the academy, the delegation got acquainted with the latest equipment for facilities, workshops, laboratories and training halls equipped according to the highest international quality standards, which prepare the workforce to work in the water sector.

The tour also took them to the Water Technology Innovation and Research Institute, SWA’s research arm, where they learned about the institute's capabilities in water industry and the future of research and innovation.

The delegation expressed appreciation for the practical and technical level and capabilities of the water sector in the Kingdom, and said it was looking forward to cooperating in the fields of water technology and services, to address global challenges in the water industry.
