The visit of Saudi Arabia’s Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defense, to Egypt was a renewal of His Highness' interest in Cairo within the framework of the two countries' joint relations.

Egypt has a special place for His Highness the Crown Prince. At the Investment Forum held in October 2018, His Highness praised the successes and great growth of the Egyptian economy, in addition to the low unemployment rates and large national projects.

He also praised Egypt's pivotal role in supporting the security and stability of Arab countries and its estimated efforts to promote joint Arab action at all levels.

His Highness the Crown Prince, during one of his visits to Egypt, visited the Sheikhdom of Al-Azhar and met with Dr. Ahmed Al-Tayeb, Sheikh of Al-Azhar. He expressed the Kingdom’s appreciation for Al-Azhar and its scholars, stressing his personal pride in Al-Azhar and in the person of Imam Al-Tayyib and his continuous follow-up to Al-Azhar’s efforts as one of the most important beacons and pillars of Islamic thought. He also visited Pope Tawadros, stressing that the Copts are precious to all the Muslims of the world.

His Highness the Crown Prince also pays great attention to and support Egypt, within the framework of the region's national security requirements. The two countries are among the most important supporters of Arab stability and security in the region, in the face of the dangers facing them, as well as the unity of Saudi-Egyptian visions regarding confronting the challenges of terrorism and working to dry up its sources.

The crown prince begins a tour; It includes Egypt, Jordan and Turkey. He will hold meetings with Egyptian President Abdel Fattah Al-Sisi and Jordanian King Abdullah II in the Jordanian capital, Amman. He will also hold a meeting in Ankara with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan next Wednesday.
