The 15th General Assembly of the Arab Organization for Supreme Audit Institutions (ARABOSAI) began in Jeddah today under the presidency of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, represented by the General Court of Audit (GCA), with the participation of the heads of supreme audit institutions from member organizations as well as leaders from relevant international and regional institutions.
The General Assembly, running until Thursday, opened with a speech by GCA President Dr. Hussam Alangari, who emphasized that Arab supreme audit institutions must keep pace with global developments in economic and technological fields.
"This requires continuous evaluation of their work methodologies and the effective use of necessary technologies and resources to enhance their role and fulfill their duties with optimal efficiency," he stated.
Alangari underscored the importance of fostering collaboration among counterpart institutions in Arab countries. He noted that this cooperation contributes to the development of ARABOSAI, enhances its regional and international standing, and supports more effective government performance and improved public financial management across the Arab region.
