US Federal Reserve holds interest rates steady at 4.00%

The US Federal Reserve has decided to keep its benchmark interest rate unchanged at 4.00%.

The central bank stated that inflation remains elevated and above its target, but noted that economic activity continues to grow at a strong pace.

It added that the decision to hold the rate within a range of 3.75% to 4.00% was not unanimous, with two members opposing the move.
