Arab League condemns Moldova's decision to move embassy to Jerusalem

The League of Arab States condemned the decision of Moldova to transfer its embassy in Israel from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem, which was a flagrant violation of the rights of the Palestinian people and a flagrant violation of international law and relevant resolutions of international legitimacy.

The Assistant Secretary-General of the Palestinian Sector and the Occupied Territories of the Arab League Said Abu Ali said in a statement on Wednesday June 12th that this decision violates international law and relevant resolutions of international legitimacy.

Moldova says it will move its embassy to Jerusalem – making it the first European country to do so – in the midst of a constitutional crisis and power struggle.

Acting Prime Minister Pavel Filip hints that the move is connected to the precarious government situation after a constitutional court suspended the country's elected president, Igor Dodon, allowing the interim leader to follow through on a decision that opposing political parties had formerly prevented.
