The Arab coalition intercepted and destroyed another explosive-laden drone launched on Tuesday toward Saudi Arabia by the Iran-backed Houthi militia, the official Saudi Press Agency reported.

Coalition spokesman Col. Turki Al-Maliki said that they intercepted and destroyed the drone targeting civilians.

The coalition has thwarted several attacks this month by the Iran-backed Houthi militia. The attacks also aimed at civilian infrastructure including Abha international airport.

Cross-border attacks by Iran-aligned Houthi forces have escalated since late May, when a truce prompted by the coronavirus pandemic expired. In late June, missiles reached the Saudi capital Riyadh.
