Saudi King Offers Burhan Condolences over Sudan Flood Victims

Samar

Saudi King Salman bin Abdulaziz and Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defense, offered their condolences on Sunday to head of Sudan's sovereign council, General Abdel Fattah al-Burhan, over the victims of his country's floods.

In a cable, King Salman offered condolences on behalf of the Saudi people and government to Burhan; the families of the victims and the people of Sudan.

This year's floods have left at least 99 people dead and dozens injured. They inflicted damage on more than half a million people. They also caused the total and partial collapse of more than 100,000 homes.

The Security and Defense Council declared a national state of emergency; for three months because of floods and designated Sudan a natural disaster zone.
