Three falcons were sold for a total of SAR214,000 yesterday on the second night of the 2025 International Falcon Breeders Auction, organized by the Saudi Falcons Club and running through August 25 at its headquarters in Malham, north of Riyadh, where top falcon breeding farms from around the world are gathered.
The evening drew significant attendance from falconers and visitors interested in this deep-rooted heritage, during which the first bird, a juvenile Gyr–Saker falcon from the UK’s Nad Al Shabab Farm, sold for SAR33,000. It was followed by a juvenile pure-bred falcon from Saudi Arabia’s Al-Barghash Farm, which sold for SAR31,000.
The night concluded with a juvenile Gyr Peregrine falcon from Spain’s Areno Farm, which opened bidding at SAR25,000 and eventually reached SAR150,000, making it the most expensive falcon sold at the auction so far.
