These efforts were recognized in the CWTS Leiden Ranking 2024, which is one of the most reliable academic rankings, and considers accurate and comprehensive standards based on objective data from research performance.

Leiden’s ranking is based on key criteria, including the number of research papers published in prestigious scientific journals and their quality, as indicated by citation counts, which indicate their impact on the scientific community.

Additionally, the ranking assesses the university's international cooperation through research collaborations with international universities and institutions, academic diversity in research topics, and societal impact, as measured by the extent of research contributions to solving societal problems.

Dean of Graduate Studies and Scientific Research at Taif University, Dr. Walaa AlSanie, stated to the Saudi Press Agency (SPA), "The university saw a qualitative progress in the Leiden Ranking 2024 by more than one hundred ranks in one year."

He added that the ranking indicators reveal the quality of the university's research output, as evidenced by the increase in high-quality research and publications within the most prestigious scientific journals worldwide, as monitored by the Leiden index.
