The General Authority for the Care of the Grand Mosque and the Prophet’s Mosque announced yesterday that the number of Umrah performers and visitors to the Two Holy Mosques during the month of Rabi' Al-Akhir 1447 AH reached 13,029,471.
At the Grand Mosque, the number of visitors totaled 4,197,055, including 22,786 who prayed at Hijr Ismail (Al-Hateem). The number of Umrah performers reached 2,887,516.
The authority also reported that the Prophet’s Mosque received 179,088,5 visitors, including 355,532 who prayed in Al-Rawdah Al-Sharifah. Meanwhile, 478,403 visitors offered greetings to the Prophet (peace be upon him) and his two Companions.
The authority noted that it employs advanced technology, including sensor readers, at the main entrances of both mosques to monitor the number of visitors and pilgrims.
The system enhances operational efficiency by tracking crowd flows and supporting authorities in managing them, as part of its partnership with relevant entities.
