The Ministry of Islamic Affairs, Dawah and Guidance, through its General Secretariat for Islamic Awareness in Hajj, Umrah, and Visitation, has launched a series of Sharia awareness programs and services for pilgrims during the 1446 AH Hajj season, aiming to help them perform their rituals with ease in line with the Kingdom’s mission to serve pilgrims and facilitate their spiritual journey.
Leveraging modern technology, the secretariat has introduced various means to ensure the accurate dissemination of religious guidance.
One of the key initiatives is a 24-hour toll-free hotline (8002451000), providing religious consultations and detailed information on Hajj and Umrah rituals based on the Quran and the Sunnah. The service is available in 10 languages.
Additionally, remote religious awareness sessions are offered through video conferencing, allowing pilgrims to consult with qualified scholars and translators who specialize in Islamic jurisprudence.
To further enhance awareness, electronic screens displaying educational messages in multiple languages have been installed at several locations. An electronic library has also been made available, offering a wide selection of books and brochures on Islamic teachings and rituals.
These initiatives aim to educate pilgrims on the correct performance of Hajj and Umrah, promote the values of Islam, highlight its ease and compassion in worship and daily life, and address common misconceptions.
