Madinah's Qiblatain Mosque: Site of the Historic Qibla Change

Ajel News

Visitors to Madinah are drawn to its historic mosques, which offer a tangible connection to the era of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH).

One of the key historical sites, Qiblatain Mosque, situated 5 kilometers west of the Prophet's Mosque, holds significant importance. It is renowned as the precise spot where the Qibla was redirected towards Makkah during a Dhuhr prayer led by the Prophet.

In efforts to enhance visitor experience, the mosque is being expanded to accommodate 3,000 worshippers. The project includes the development of a cultural center, improved road access, and the installation of modern amenities like escalators and elevators.

The recently opened northeast squares, part of the Al-Qiblatain Cultural Center, offer shaded outdoor areas and new parking facilities, ensuring greater accessibility.
