Jeddah Islamic Port Receives 1,183 Pilgrims, Representing Final Batch of Hajj Journeys from Sudan

The Jeddah Islamic Port received 1,183 pilgrims on Monday, representing the final Hajj batch coming through the sea from Sudan on board Amanah ship, where they were received with souvenirs and flowers by several officials of government departments at the port.

The Saudi Ports Authority (Mawani) is implementing a comprehensive operational plan in cooperation with various sectors and government departments at the port to receive pilgrims at the arrival terminal that is equipped with all necessary facilities and preparations to serve pilgrims and complete their entry procedures, until they leave after performing Hajj rituals.

The Jeddah Islamic Port had started receiving pilgrims since mid-Thul Qidah, amidst a system of services including advanced devices for inspecting and transporting the luggage of pilgrims to arrival terminals, carts to transport the bags of arriving pilgrims, providing several modern buses for the transfer of pilgrims, some of which were dedicated to transport patients and the elderly.

The preparations also included providing qualified human personnel from various fields to supervise operations and administrate technical affairs, in addition to preparing several equipment and machinery concerned with security, safety and cases of ambulance and fire, among other assisting services.

Pilgrims expressed their happiness for the warm welcome and finishing their procedures easily, voicing their gratitude for the Saudi government’s interest and care for pilgrims coming from across the world to perform Hajj rituals, praising the good organization of procedures.
