GCC condemn terrorist Houthi militia attack on Abha International Airport

The Secretary-General of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) Dr. Nayef Falah Mubarak Al-Hajraf has condemned, in the strongest terms, the terrorist attack carried out by the Houthi militia targeting Abha International Airport in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, using a drone and endangering civilians, it was reported here today.

In a statement issued yesterday, Al-Hajraf stressed that the attack launched by the Houthi militia is a cowardly terrorist act of war crime that endangers the lives of civilians, travelers and workers, citing that it resulted in casualties of different nationalities during the interception process.

He stressed the need to hold the terrorists accountable in accordance with international humanitarian law and its customary rules as civil airports are protected areas under international law.

Dr. Al-Hajraf praised the vigilance and efficiency of the forces of the Coalition to Support Legitimacy in Yemen, led by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, of being able to intercept the drone, stressing the solidarity and standing of the other GCC member states with the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, supporting it in all the measures it takes to defend its lands and preserve its security and safety of its citizens and expatriates, wishing the injured a speedy recovery.
