Saudi Arabia: Half a Million People Have Registered to Receive COVID-19 Vaccine

More than 500,000 people in the Kingdom have so far registered through the Sehaty app to receive the COVID-19 vaccine, the Saudi Health Ministry said on Wednesday.

The ministry also reported nine new deaths and 177 new coronavirus cases.

The new cases bring the Kingdom's total to 361,536, it said.

As for the new fatalities, they put the death toll at 6,148, the ministry added.

Saudi Arabia began inoculating people in the Kingdom with a COVID-19 vaccine last Thursday.

It had received two shipments of the Pfizer-BioNTech vaccine a day earlier.

Health Minister Dr. Tawfiq al-Rabiah was one of the first people to receive the vaccine.
