The United Nations Special Envoy to Yemen Martin Griffithswelcomed the agreement between the Yemeni government and the SouthernTransitional Council to "shape the next phase," in the country.
In a statement, he considered signing of this agreement asan important step in our collective efforts to reach a peaceful settlement ofthe conflict, in Yemen, adding that listening to the relevant southernstakeholders is very important to the political efforts to achieve peace, inthe country.
In his statement, he expressed gratitude of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA) for its "successful mediation to conclude this agreement" and thanked it for its tireless diplomatic efforts exerted, in this respect.
