New COVID-19 cases in Saudi Arabia stayed below the 50-mark for the third straight day after briefly going up and down the half century level on Friday, with 42 new infections recorded over the past 24 hours.

According to a statement from the Ministry of Health, 3 more people died due to complications caused by the virus over the past 24 hours.

This brings the total number of confirmed infections in the Kingdom to 547,221 and the virus-related fatalities to 8,722.

According to the ministry, a total of 55 people recovered over the past 24 hours; raising the total number of people free from the deadly virus to 536,281.

Al Baha reported the highest number of new cases followed by Riyadh. The remaining cases were detected in other regions of the Kingdom.

According to the ministry, among the active cases and 193 of them were in critical condition.
