The General Secretariat of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) has participated in the ninth meeting of the International Committee for the Preservation of the Human Historical Heritage at the Arab League headquarters.

The meeting addressed the threats facing both tangible and intangible cultural heritage in the OIC member states, exploring ways to protect and preserve it, particularly the human heritage of Palestine, given the critical conditions there, which remain a major concern for member countries.

OIC General Secretariat Representative Dr. Rami Anchassi Anshasi stated that the organization’s participation is a continuation of its efforts in heritage preservation, in line with ministerial decisions adopted during several consecutive sessions of the Council of Foreign Ministers, which urged member states to establish the OIC platform for the protection and preservation of cultural heritage.

He also noted the catastrophic situation facing the cultural heritage of Palestine, particularly in light of the ongoing tragic events.
