Indonesian People's Consultative Assembly Speaker Ahmad Muzani led a delegation to the headquarters of the Muslim World League (MWL) in Makkah, where he was received by MWL Secretary-General and Chairman of the Organization of Muslim Scholars Sheikh Dr. Mohammed Al-Issa.
Muzani delivered greetings from Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto and expressed appreciation for MWL's global efforts to promote Islam's message of peace and tolerance.
He emphasized that the league, through its extensive outreach and dialogue initiatives across diverse cultures and religions, effectively conveys the true essence of Islam.
Muzani also extended an official invitation to Al-Issa to visit Indonesia and pledged full support for the league's efforts to establish the International Fair and Museum of the Prophet's Biography and Islamic Civilization branch in Indonesia.
Al-Issa emphasized that the league is honored to carry the noble message of Islam, guided by the principles of mercy and compassion for all humankind. He highlighted Islam's pioneering role in combating hatred, racism, and the false notion of a "clash of civilizations."
The meeting also discussed the significance of the Charter of Makkah, signed by senior muftis and scholars from various Islamic sects. The charter, presented to Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, has been endorsed by the Organization of Islamic Cooperation.
