The Arab League has emphasized the importance of reinforcing Arab and international solidarity.
This call was made by Assistant Secretary-General and Head of the Media and Communication Sector at the Arab League Ambassador Ahmed Rashid Khattabi, on the sidelines of the 25th session of the Arab States Broadcasting Union (ASBU), currently underway in Tunisia.
Khattabi stressed that the media serves as a vital front in complementing political, diplomatic, and legal efforts aimed at garnering broader support for the Palestinian cause.
He highlighted that the Israeli occupation has engaged in systematic violations against Palestinian media for decades, including arbitrary arrests, censorship, restrictions on movement, and the blocking and banning of Palestinian news websites.
He also noted that, in response to the recent Israeli aggression on the Gaza Strip, the Arab League promptly took action to counter false narratives by organizing a dedicated symposium, which brought together media professionals, diplomats, and academics.
