King Salman greets citizens; residents and Muslims around the world on eve of Eid Al-Fitr

Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman has greeted Saudi citizens; residents and Muslims around the world on the eve of Eid Al-Fitr.

In a speech delivered by Acting Minister of Media Majid Al-Qasabi on Wednesday.

King Salman prayed to Allah; beseeching Him to ease the pain and negative impacts of the coronavirus pandemic.

In the speech; King Salman said he was "optimistic about the positive steps in place to achieve stability in the Arab world so that security and prosperity prevail in all parts of the world."

Protect pilgrims

The Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques also said that Saudi Arabia; since its establishment by King Abdulaziz; has been working to reject extremism and combat terrorism; and always stands by the international community in everything that serves the security of the world and the restoration of peace.

"Praise be to Allah Almighty who honored us in this country; as leadership and people; to serve the Two Holy Mosques and serve the pilgrims; Umrah performers and visitors; which is a service that we are also honored to do. We spare no efforts to serve them;" the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques said.

King Salman said that our goal is to protect the pilgrims and visitors of the Two Holy Mosques and provide them with the highest safety standards in light of the coronavirus crisis; adding that "We are so proud of our daughters' contribution within Hajj and Umrah security teams this year.

He said the Saudi government has taken several measures this year and focused its attention on protecting them and providing them with the highest safety standards in light of the COVID-19 crisis.

"Combating this pandemic that has befallen the world requires all of us to adhere to the health measures outlined by the health ministry; including social distancing; and the need to take the vaccine; which will work to immunize our dear citizens and residents;" King Salman said.

He concluded by saying: "I express my thanks to the male and female personnel who are stationed in all military; civil and health institutions for spending the Eid far away from their families."
