Secretary General of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) Jasem Albudaiwi met here today with Minister of State at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Federal Republic of Germany Dr. Tobias Lindner on the sidelines of the 61st Munich Security Conference in Germany.
During the meeting, the two sides reviewed GCC-European relations in light of the outcomes of the first Gulf-European Summit, emphasizing the need to resume negotiations for a Free Trade Agreement between the GCC and the European Union (EU).
They also discussed the prospects for cooperation between the GCC and the EU, exploring ways to strengthen joint coordination across various fields to promote regional and international security and stability.
Both sides underscored the importance of intensifying international efforts to support the Palestinian cause and working toward achieving a just and comprehensive peace in accordance with relevant international and UN resolutions.
They also exchanged views on several regional and international issues.
