Secretary General of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) Jasem Mohamed Albudaiwi said that the Gulf Weeks are being launched in implementation of the GCC Supreme Council's decision, taken at its 35th session, in 2014, in Doha, to hold the Gulf Weeks annually to inform the citizens of the member states about the council's achievements in various fields.

Albudaiwi informed of this decision today, November 23, at the ceremony marking the start of the Gulf Weeks, which was held under the patronage of Kuwaiti Minister of Information and Culture and Minister of State for Youth Affairs Adulrahman Badah Al Mutairi who attended the event along with ministers, officials, and ambassadors of GCC countries in Kuwait. Albudaiwi said that the Gulf weeks reflect the depth of the shared Gulf identity, and highlight the integration and unity among the peoples of the member states.

He expressed hope that these efforts will continue, to achieve the aspirations of the Gulf states for a bright future.
