The first phase of the AlUla Dates Season for this year, which featured the weekend date auction, has concluded, while the second phase—represented by the farmers’ market—has begun and will continue until November 15.

The event is part of the Royal Commission for AlUla’s efforts to support agricultural development and enhance the economic returns of the sector.
This annual event embodies the essence of “Khayrat AlUla,” one of the area’s key agricultural resources.

It reflects farmers’ deep-rooted passion and historical bond with palm cultivation and highlights AlUla’s growing role in boosting food security and diversifying the local economy in line with the goals of Saudi Vision 2030.

AlUla is home to more than 4.1 million palm trees spread across an area exceeding 15,000 hectares, producing nearly 170,000 tons of dates annually, reaffirming its position as one of the Kingdom’s most important agricultural oases.

During the 2023 dates season, the auction generated sales exceeding SAR12.8 million, along with SAR400,000 from the accompanying market, attracting over 15,000 visitors.
