The Royal Commission for AlUla (RCU), in coordination with the General Authority of Civil Aviation (GACA), took part in the proceedings of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia’s candidacy for membership on the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) Council, held in Montreal, Canada.

The commission presented a portfolio of major development projects to the attending delegations. These included initiatives in public transportation, tourism, culture and heritage, sports, and agriculture to showcase the Kingdom’s innovation and reinforce a positive image of its national development efforts.

The commission also spotlighted the expansion and infrastructure projects at AlUla International Airport, designed to meet ICAO and GACA standards. This includes the new private aviation terminal, which supports AlUla’s growing role as a hub for tourism and investment.

The RCU's involvement reflects the goals of Saudi Vision 2030, which aims to promote the Kingdom’s identity in international forums and expand global engagement across multiple sectors.

It also underscores AlUla’s emergence as a world-class destination and contributor to the Kingdom’s global presence.
