KSrelief Signs Cooperation Agreement to Support Education in Yemen

Ajel News

The King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center (KSrelief) yesterday signed a cooperation agreement with a local civil-society organization to support the educational process for children affected by armed conflict in the Al Hawtah and Tuban districts of Yemen’s Lahij Governorate.

The project will directly benefit 6,833 individuals and indirectly benefit 16,000 others.

The agreement was signed via video conference by KSrelief Assistant Supervisor-General for Operations and Programs Eng. Ahmed bin Ali Al-Baiz.

Under the agreement, awareness campaigns will be conducted to highlight the importance of education, with a particular focus on encouraging school attendance among girls.

The initiative includes distributing school bags, uniforms, and hygiene kits, as well as providing psychological and social support, child protection services, and referral mechanisms.

The project will focus on building the capacities of volunteer educators in effective teaching methods, equipping teachers with educational tools, and supplying classrooms with learning materials.

Hygiene kits and first aid supplies will be provided to the targeted schools, along with sports equipment, desks, and chairs. Selected classrooms will also be rehabilitated to improve the learning environment.

The initiative falls within the broader humanitarian and relief efforts led by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia through KSrelief, aiming to support education and protect children in crisis-affected areas, while ensuring access to a safe and sustainable educational environment.
