Minister of Industry and Mineral Resources Bandar Alkhorayef visited the in-person Future Minerals Pioneers bootcamp, organized by the Ministry of Industry and Mineral Resources in collaboration with the National Industrial Development and Logistics Program (NIDLP) to empower innovation, attract national and global talent, and transform high-potential ideas into practical, implementable solutions for the mining sector.

‏During his visit, Alkhorayef emphasized that innovation represents a fundamental pillar in the development of the mining sector, in line with the Kingdom’s efforts to diversify its economy under Saudi Vision 2030.

He noted that studying the global landscape of mining activities has reinforced a national conviction of the need to adopt a new approach to sector development, one that is rooted in innovation and sustainability, and that strengthens the Kingdom’s role as a key contributor to positive transformation in the future of mining.

Alkhorayef further explained that the initiatives being introduced contribute to enhancing global cooperation and joint efforts to advance mining practices through the adoption of modern technologies, support for innovation, and modernization of regulatory frameworks.

This, he noted, reflects the Kingdom’s confidence in its ability to drive qualitative transformation and lead the future of the sector. He affirmed that the Future Minerals Pioneers Competition represents a strategic pillar for the future of minerals at both the national and global levels.

‏Participants in the bootcamp continued to refine their ideas and prepare their projects for presentation before the judging panels, within a highly stimulating, competitive environment that combines specialized mentorship, applied work, and knowledge exchange.

The first and second days of the bootcamp witnessed the delivery of over 12 workshops, attended by approximately 30 mentors from expert and specialized partner entities. These sessions provided guidance and support to participants across various stages of project development.

In parallel, specialized seminars were held with the participation of international experts, focusing on innovation concepts, solution development, presentation building, and foresight into the future of the mining sector.

‏The bootcamp concluded with the submission of final projects by competing teams. Winners will be announced during the 5th Edition of the Future Minerals Forum, scheduled to take place from 13 to 15 January, marking the culmination of the innovation journey and highlighting practical, high-impact solutions.
