Ajel News

The Ministry of Health has announced significant advancements in key indicators related to the Ada’a Health platform, which evaluates the effectiveness of health service providers and fosters competition across various tracks, as progress made in 2023 and 2024 has positively impacted service quality, response times, and beneficiary satisfaction across the Kingdom.

These efforts align with the goals of the Health Sector Transformation Program, aimed at enhancing the quality of health services and implementing a healthcare model derived from Saudi Vision 2030. This vision seeks to create a vibrant society that enjoys prosperous and sustainable health.

Ada’a Health data indicates that in 2024, 91% of emergency department visitors received treatment within four hours, up from 85% in 2022. This improvement is attributed to enhanced clinical capacity and faster access to immediate care.

Maternity and children’s services saw a 23% increase in adherence to breastfeeding practices, contributing to better health outcomes for both mothers and children. Additionally, key indicators related to newborn care and safety improved by more than 22%, highlighting the direct impact of advancements in maternity and pediatric programs.

On a surgical level, over 11,300 surgeries were performed in a single week, setting a record that reflects efficient clinical planning and quick access to services. The average hospital stay decreased to about four days in 2024, down from 5.5 days in 2017, representing a 27% improvement. The average waiting time for surgeries dropped 60% from 53 days in 2022 to 21 days in 2024.

Similarly, the average waiting time for specialized clinics fell from 23 days to 16 days over the same period, a 30% reduction.

These results demonstrate the health sector’s commitment to continuous development and improved service efficiency. This commitment is further reinforced by investments in human resources and the expansion of digital health solutions, all aimed at enhancing the beneficiary experience.

The Ada’a Health Award, launched by the ministry in 2018 to honor distinguished health facilities, supports ongoing development in the health sector and reinforces the Kingdom’s position as a leading regional center for health and quality of life.
