Government Study to Understand Supply, Demand within Saudi Economy

The Data Office of Saudi Arabia's Local Content and Government Procurement Authority is currently working on analytical studies and statistical reports to understand supply and demand, as well as the movement of products and services within the local economy, with the aim to support localization efforts and enhance national content.

Information obtained by Asharq Al-Awsat revealed that the Authority had asked the Saudi private sector to provide it with the required information in order to build the necessary tools for the development of local content, in a way that contributes to achieving the national and development goals of the Kingdom's Vision 2030.

The Authority is working in cooperation with the relevant government agencies to enhance local capabilities. Besides, maximizing the benefit of the national purchasing power to build a strong and sustainable economy.

In this regard, the Local Content and Government Procurement Authority and the National Center for Government Resources Systems signed a cooperation agreement to automate the procedures for local content in government procurement, by operating and developing the relevant portal and linking it with the electronic platform for government financial services.

The agreement was signed by Abdulrahman Al-Samari; CEO of the Local Content and Government Procurement Authority, and Yousef Al-Hargan; CEO of the National Center for Government Resources Systems.

The scope of the agreement included, customer service; business analysis; quality assurance; development of operational infrastructure, addressing technical problems and sharing relevant information between the two parties, while providing protection from cyber-attacks.
