Saudi Arabia’s Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman , Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defense begins today, Monday, his visit to the Arab Republic of Egypt, in confirmation of the depth of the historical bilateral relations between the two countries. The relations witnessed fruitful cooperation between them since ancient times.

Bilateral relations between Saudi Arabia and Egypt

The bilateral relations between the Kingdom and Egypt, with the support and guidance of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz, his Crown Prince , His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman , and their brother, the President of the Arab Republic of Egypt, Mr. Abdel Fattah Al-Sisi, have risen to the level of strategic partnership through the establishment of the Saudi-Egyptian Coordination Council.

The governments of the two countries concluded about 70 agreements, protocols and memoranda of understanding between their governmental institutions.

The Saudi-Egyptian relations are distinguished relations characterized by strength and continuity due to the great position and capabilities that the two countries enjoy at the Arab, Islamic and international levels. International problems and issues, Arab and Islamic issues.

Economic close relations

The Kingdom and Egypt have close economic relations, and this is evident in the Public Investment Fund’s announcement to pump investments amounting to $10 billion, in cooperation with the Sovereign Fund of Egypt, with the aim of enhancing trade exchange between the two countries and contributing to the expansion of their activities and investments in other countries at the regional and international levels.

Business Growing

The Kingdom and Egypt also have growing trade relations, as the volume of trade exchange between the two countries during the past six years (2016-2021) amounted to 179 billion riyals (47.71 billion dollars), and the volume of Saudi non-oil exports to Egypt grew by 6.9% during the year 2021, recording 7.2 billion riyals ($1.9 billion).

Professor of Media at King Saud University, Dr. Ali Al-Enezi, said that the visit of His Royal Highness Prince Muhammad bin Salman bin Abdulaziz, Crown Prince, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defense, to the Arab Republic of Egypt is inseparable from the Jeddah Summit, which was invited by the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques in the presence of US President Joe Biden, next month.

He added, in his speech to Al-Ikhbariya channel, on Monday, that the world today is governed by alliances, relations and partnerships, and China today invites Egypt, Saudi Arabia and the UAE to attend the BRICS summit, and the European Union is flirting with the Gulf Cooperation Council and the countries of the region, so the Kingdom will be the focus of the tensions in the region.

It is worth noting that Prince Mohammed bin Salman will hold meetings with Egyptian President Abdel Fattah Al-Sisi and Jordan's King Abdullah II in the Jordanian capital, Amman. He will also hold a meeting in Ankara with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan next Wednesday.
