Ajel News

As late winter gives way to early spring, the desert of Northern Borders Region is adorned with blooming anemones, known in Arabic as Shaqaiq Al-Numan, in a seasonal scene that highlights the desert's beauty and botanical diversity following the rainy season.

The Saudi Press Agency observed the spread of anemones across several wilderness areas, where they covered vast stretches of land with their bright red color, forming harmonious natural vistas that reflect the vitality of the environment and attract visitors, photographers, and desert outing enthusiasts.

The anemone is considered one of the seasonal wild plants that thrive in moderate temperatures and rainfall.

It is distinguished by its deep red hues, which give the desert a striking visual appeal and showcase the plant diversity that characterizes the region.

The varied terrain of Northern Borders Region, including plains, valleys, and plateaus, supports the growth of seasonal plants, while the appearance of the anemone is seen as an environmental indicator of a good rainy season and fertile soil.

This phenomenon attracts picnickers and nature lovers during the spring season, boosting ecotourism in the region and reaffirming the natural features that make it one of the most prominent hallmarks of spring in the Northern Borders desert.
