Saudi Arabia is committed to the exploration andutilization of outer space for solely peaceful purposes, the UN heard onTuesday.
During a debate organized by the First Committee onDisarmament and International Security, during the 74th session of the UN GeneralAssembly, Saudi Second Secretary Fahad Abu-Haimid stressed the importance ofinternational legal agreements and regulations designed to prevent theweaponization of space. He added that any attempt to place armaments in spacewould cause serious harm to the whole world.
