Yemeni Government Holds Houthi Militias Responsible for Stalled Implementation of Stockholm Agreement

The Yemeni government has blamed theIranian-backed Houthi militia for the stalled implementation of the StockholmAgreement reached in consultations hosted by Sweden at the end of last year2018.

Yemeni Foreign Minister MohammedAl-Hadrami said the continued intransigence of Houthi militias in implementingthe Agreement was the main obstacle to the political settlement process.

This came during a meeting held heretoday between the Yemeni official and the Swedish Foreign Minister Ann Linde.

Al-Hadrami stressed that thelegitimate Yemeni government is keen on peace and will continue to support theefforts of the UN special envoy to Yemen to reach a lasting peace based on thethree references.

For his part, the Swedish ministeraffirmed her country's stand by the Yemeni Government and its support for theefforts of the Special Envoy of the UN Secretary General.
