Yemeni army launches 133 operations against Houthis in 24 hours

Yemen’s armed forces announced they had conducted 133 military operations against the Houthi group in the past 24 hours, targeting sites, personnel, and capabilities in a field escalation involving army units stationed along the frontlines.

The armed forces said the operations employed rocket launchers, artillery, and drones, focusing on destroying sources of threat, limiting Houthi capabilities, and striking their positions and movements.

Meanwhile, the Yemeni Joint Forces on the western coast released footage they said documented intensive drone strikes against Houthi positions and gatherings, which, according to their statement, resulted in casualties and equipment losses.

The footage showed reconnaissance and aerial surveillance of Houthi movements and vehicles on the outskirts of western frontlines, followed by targeted strikes on observed positions and movements.

The Joint Forces reported that drones targeted several pieces of equipment and fortifications, describing the operations as reflecting coordination between reconnaissance units and strike forces, and contributing to restricting Houthi movement along the confrontation lines.

These operations follow an announcement by Yemen’s Ministry of Defense of plans to expand the use of both locally produced and imported drones in air and ground operations, as part of efforts to strengthen the army’s capabilities in confronting the Houthis.
