Trump says briefed on Damietta port incident in Egypt, warns of strong response to Iran

US President Donald Trump said he had been briefed on the incident in Egypt.

Speaking at a press conference, Trump stated, "We will strike Iran with force," but did not specify when such action might take place, according to Al Arabiya.

Trump added that "Iran is asking us not to launch strikes against them, and we will see if we can reach an agreement with Iran." He continued that "the Iranians fired five missiles last night, all of which were intercepted." Trump had previously vowed to respond to Iran after the US military announced it had repelled a surprise attack by Tehran on its forces.
