US Senator Marco Rubio said Iran has lost its leverage over the Strait of Hormuz, confirming that American strikes have destroyed Iran’s navy, air force, and missile and drone production facilities. Meanwhile, the Iranian Revolutionary Guard threatened a severe response against Israel if energy facilities inside Iran are attacked.

Rubio added that President Donald Trump has not allowed Iran to develop a nuclear weapon and shield it behind thousands of missiles and drones. He noted that large parts of Iranian territory are now exposed to potential future US strikes if necessary. According to Rubio, about 14 million barrels of oil pass through the Strait of Hormuz daily.

On the other hand, Revolutionary Guard spokesperson Brigadier General Hossein Mohbi warned that any targeting of Iran’s energy facilities would be met with a harsh response, threatening to turn the occupied Palestinian territories into a “scorched earth.”

Mohbi affirmed that Iran possesses the scientific and technical capabilities to quickly repair any damage to its energy facilities, cautioning that the consequences of targeting them would be extremely serious. In earlier remarks, he indicated that Iran has new targets that have not previously been attacked, and confirmed that the Revolutionary Guard is preparing for a potentially prolonged confrontation.

These statements come amid rising tensions between Washington and Tehran, as Iran threatens to expand the scope of confrontation beyond the Middle East, potentially targeting American interests and strategic infrastructure, including internet networks, artificial intelligence data centers, and energy facilities.
