Iranian president: I do not support prolonging the war, but resilience is needed

Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian has stated that he does not support the continuation of the war, saying: "I am not in favor of prolonging the war, but we must strengthen the country's ability to withstand upcoming developments and challenges."

He added: "To reinforce this resilience, we must take a path that prevents us from having to negotiate with the enemy from a position of weakness. In this regard, universities should support the government."

Pezeshkian emphasized the sensitivity of economic decisions, warning that "any economic interventions must consider the realities and circumstances of society; otherwise, they could become a destructive burden rather than a remedy."

On the domestic political scene and crisis management, the Iranian president said: "Today, my electoral rivals are standing alongside the government and making efforts to help solve the country's problems. I have personally addressed Mr. Jalili and asked him to assist the government, expressing my willingness to grant him authority over any issue he can resolve. I do not want just proposals—our problem is not a lack of solutions, but the need for people who can actually implement them."
