Trump says US cleared all mines from Strait of Hormuz, Navy in control

US President Donald Trump announced that the United States has completely cleared mines from the Strait of Hormuz, confirming that the strait is now open and a large number of ships are passing through.

In remarks to the press, Trump said, "The Strait of Hormuz is now open, many ships are passing through, and our Navy is the only force controlling it." He added, "The situation in the Strait of Hormuz was complicated by mines, but we have removed them from the entire strait."

The US president emphasized that the United States is the only country controlling the Strait of Hormuz, stressing that the waterway is currently open.

In a separate context, Trump said that Iran should pay compensation to the families of 52,000 protesters killed in Iran over the past four months, adding that the United States "will demand financial compensation for the damages caused by Iran."
