US vice president Vance warns of Egyptian-American doctor’s possible presidential bid

US Vice President JD Vance has warned of the possibility that Abdulrahman El-Sayed, an American physician of Egyptian descent, could run for president in three years, following El-Sayed’s victory in the Democratic Senate primary in Michigan.

Vance’s comments came after El-Sayed defeated his rival, Haley Stevens—who was backed by AIPAC—in the recent state primary race.

Vance stated that El-Sayed’s potential rise to the presidency could undermine what he described as “all the incredible work we have done,” expressing concerns about El-Sayed’s possible policies if he were to reach the White House.
