Iraqi prime minister Ali Al-Zaidi to visit Iran on Thursday

Iraq's government spokesman announced that Prime Minister Ali Al-Zaidi will visit Iran on Thursday.

This comes after the prime minister confirmed that he had advised US President Donald Trump not to launch a military strike against Iran, stressing that negotiations are more important, according to the Iraqi News Agency.

Al-Zaidi added that Iraq should serve as a meeting point, not a battleground, between the United States and Iran.

He went on to say that all weapons must be placed under state control, emphasizing the rejection of turning Iraq into a failed state. He affirmed the government's commitment to fighting corruption and strengthening state authority.
