Kordofan governor resigns from Sudan's Rapid Support Forces administration

Hamad Mohammed Hamid, who was appointed by the Rapid Support Forces administration in Sudan, has announced his resignation as governor of Kordofan.

Hamid said in a phone interview with Al Arabiya that the suffering endured by Sudanese people in areas controlled by the Rapid Support Forces is heartbreaking.

He accused the "founding government" affiliated with the Rapid Support Forces of complicity and negligence, adding that the "militia" continues to destroy cities and kill civilians. This, he said, has led to a lack of security and widespread weapons, with no unified institutional leadership in place.

The resigned Kordofan governor stressed that Sudanese people now have no choice but to unite against all attempts to legitimize parallel forces or rogue militias, which he said have cost an entire generation its future for the benefit of a few individuals.
