Oman reports oil spill from tanker reaches southeastern coast

Oman's Environment Authority has confirmed that an oil slick caused by a leak from a tanker has reached the country's southeastern coast.

The authority added that the oil spill could impact 40 kilometers of coastline in the city of Ras Madrakah, according to Asharq news.

This development follows recent attacks by Iran on oil tankers in the region as it seeks to assert full control over the Strait of Hormuz.
