Qatar condemns attack on Iraqi Kurdistan prime minister’s office

Qatar has strongly condemned the attack targeting the office of the Prime Minister of Iraq’s Kurdistan Region and the home of the head of the Security and Intelligence Agency in Erbil province, describing it as a blatant violation of the sovereignty of Iraq and the Kurdistan Region, and a clear breach of international law.

In a statement issued on Tuesday, Qatar’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs stressed the importance of sparing the region the consequences of such unjustified attacks, and emphasized the need to continue dialogue, diplomacy, and de-escalation efforts to help strengthen security and stability both regionally and internationally.

The ministry also reaffirmed Qatar’s full solidarity with Iraq and the Kurdistan Region, and its support for all measures taken by both parties to safeguard their sovereignty and security.
