North Korea says nuclear stance unchanged despite US disarmament calls

North Korea's foreign ministry has stated that the country's nuclear status will not be affected by repeated US calls for denuclearization.

The ministry said that Washington's hostile policy toward Pyongyang remains unchanged, adding that relying on easing tensions in the region is futile.

It added that nuclear weapons are an absolute guarantee of the country's sovereignty, stressing that North Korea will continue to strengthen its nuclear capabilities.
