Syrian soldier killed, two wounded in attack east of Deir Ezzor

A Syrian army soldier was killed and two others were wounded in the town of Jadid Bakara, east of Deir Ezzor.

Syria continues to face periodic attempts to destabilize the country. The Internal Security Forces announced the neutralization of two members of the Daesh terrorist group who were planting an explosive device in the Sayyida Zainab area in the Damascus countryside.

In a statement, the Internal Security Forces said that patrol officers became suspicious of two masked individuals stationed by the roadside. When officers tried to stop them to verify their identities, the suspects opened fire, leading to a clash that ended with both being neutralized.

It was found that the suspects were attempting to plant an explosive device in preparation for a terrorist attack targeting a government entity. Explosives and weapons were found in their possession, and investigations confirmed their affiliation with the Daesh terrorist group.
