US military: Iran targeted oil tanker Al-Ghaya with drone off Oman

The US military has confirmed that Iran targeted the oil tanker Al-Ghaya with a drone this week off the coast of Oman, rejecting the Iranian Revolutionary Guard's claim that the vessel was attacked with a sea mine.

According to the US military, the Revolutionary Guard's assertion that Al-Ghaya was hit by a sea mine is "false," stating instead that the attack was carried out by a drone.

The US military also accused the Iranian Revolutionary Guard of attempting to disrupt commercial shipping in the Strait of Hormuz amid rising tensions over maritime navigation in the region.
