Several Houthi fighters killed in airstrikes on Marib and Al-Jawf

Yemeni television reported on Saturday that several Houthi militia members were killed when their positions were targeted in Marib and Al-Jawf.

The report added that airstrikes targeted missile launch platforms, a Katyusha rocket base, and weapons depots belonging to the Houthi militia in the districts of Al-Jubah, Al-Safra, and Majzar in Marib and Al-Jawf provinces, resulting in the deaths of several fighters, including missile experts.

Presidential Leadership Council member Sultan Al-Arada emphasized the need to raise combat readiness and strengthen defensive and operational capabilities across all military and security units to enhance performance and meet current requirements.

This came during a meeting between Al-Arada, Yemeni Minister of Defense Lieutenant General Taher Al-Aqeeli, Chief of the General Staff and Commander of Joint Operations Lieutenant General Sagheer bin Aziz, and the Arab Coalition commander in Marib, Brigadier General Faris Al-Shammari, to discuss military and field developments, readiness levels, and the progress of operational plans on various fronts.

The Joint Forces Command of the Coalition had earlier announced a specific military operation targeting legitimate military objectives belonging to the Houthi militia in Al-Hodeidah province, in response to the Houthis' continued targeting of commercial vessels in the Red Sea.

Coalition spokesperson Major General Turki Al-Maliki stated that the Houthi militia continues to systematically target commercial ships, posing a threat to one of the world's most important maritime corridors and adding to their record of maritime crimes and terrorism.

Al-Maliki stressed that Saudi Arabia has stood and will continue to stand with the Yemeni people and their government under all circumstances, reaffirming the Kingdom's ongoing support for Yemenis in confronting the Houthi militia.

Al-Maliki also clarified that the coalition has not targeted Al-Hodeidah port, and that all Yemeni ports, including Al-Hodeidah, Ras Issa, and Al-Salif, remain open to maritime traffic and continue to receive commercial ships carrying food, goods, fuel, and construction materials, in addition to ongoing flights at Yemeni airports.
